Self Care:Giving yourself a little extra love

For some reason in society, taking time to mentally reset is frowned upon. There is this “work hard” mentality that’s rarely followed by relaxation or celebration. I have experienced this first-hand.

Growing up surrounded by people who gave nothing less than 100% I sought to do the same. I put my all into everything that I did, and as activities piled up, that left little time for me to relax resulting in a lot of stress. As I have matured, I’ve come to realize that there is nothing wrong with taking a few minutes, hours, or even days to relax. Whether that is watching a movie, having a spa day, or meditating for a few minutes. I’ve discovered that taking time for myself has helped me come back stronger. Now that you have seen what one of my self care days look like, I want to urge you to do something that relaxes or brings you joy. I know, it’s harder than it sounds, but I promise it really is worth it!
